About Metro Jetting

What actually makes a drainage company worth trusting with a problem in your own home? For us, it's a combination of things that sound simple but are surprisingly rare to find together: genuine specialist knowledge, equipment that matches the job, honest communication, and a track record you can actually check for yourself.

See the Problem First

We start every job the same way: understanding the actual problem before proposing a fix. For anything recurring or structural, that means a CCTV inspection so you can see — in your own footage — exactly what we’re dealing with.

Honest Communication

We think transparency really matters. It’s your home or business, your pipes, and your money — you deserve to understand what’s happening and why, not just receive an invoice.

Family-Owned, Not a Call Centre

Metro Jetting is a family-owned and operated Melbourne business, not a national franchise. The person who answers your call knows the technicians, the trucks, and the job not just a script.

Proper Job, First Time

We always explain our reasoning and agree a price before any additional work starts. And we get the job done properly, because nobody wants us back next month for the same problem.

OUR HISTORY

Built on Specialisation.

Built on Specialisation.

Metro Jetting is a family-owned and operated Melbourne drainage and plumbing business. We were built around drainage specifically, not as a side offering to general plumbing work,  because we genuinely believe that specialisation produces better outcomes for the people who call us. Our name is on every job, which means we care about every job.

As a family business, we understand what it means to invite a tradesperson into your home. You want someone who arrives when they say they will, explains what they’re doing in plain English, does the work properly, and charges a fair price that was agreed upfront. That’s not an ambitious standard,  it’s simply the way we’d want to be treated ourselves. And yet, in our experience, it’s surprisingly rare.

Our team handles everything from a simple blocked toilet to complex commercial grease trap programmes and large-scale hydro excavation work. Every technician who turns up at your door carries the training, tools, and experience to actually solve the problem in front of them, rather than referring you elsewhere or booking a follow-up visit for work that could easily have been done on the day.

We’ve built our reputation,  including a genuine 5-star Google rating, the old-fashioned way: by turning up when we say we will, explaining what we find honestly, and doing the job properly the first time.

The Right Approach.

We start every job the same way: understanding the actual problem before proposing a fix. For straightforward blockages, that might just mean a visual assessment and a jet blast. For anything recurring or structural, it means a CCTV inspection so you can see, in your own footage, exactly what we’re dealing with.

We think that kind of transparency really matters. It’s your home or business, your pipes, and your money, and you deserve to understand what’s happening and why, not just receive an invoice. When we show you the camera footage and explain what we see, you can make an informed decision about how you want to proceed.

Being a family-owned Melbourne business rather than a national call centre means the person who answers your call genuinely knows the technicians, the trucks, and the kind of work involved,  not just a script. That translates into faster, clearer communication and a lot fewer of the misunderstandings that happen when a job gets passed between departments. You’re talking to someone who actually cares how the job turns out.

Our emergency line is staffed 24/7 because we understand that a backed-up sewer at 11pm on a Sunday isn’t something you can wait until Monday morning to deal with. We’re genuinely there when you need us, not just during business hours.

Why Local Knowledge Matters

Melbourne’s much-loved housing stock creates some very specific drainage challenges, and understanding them is part of what makes the difference between a technician who guesses and one who knows.

Suburbs like Fitzroy, Collingwood, and Brunswick are full of gorgeous heritage terraces sitting on ageing clay pipes that were never designed for modern water usage, let alone decades of tree root growth. The clay jointed pipe systems common in these areas are particularly vulnerable to root intrusion and ground movement,  and when they fail, they usually fail gradually, in ways that a simple jet blast won’t permanently fix.

Out in Hawthorn, Camberwell, and Doncaster, those beautiful established gardens with mature trees mean root intrusion into sewer lines is one of the most common calls we get. We’ve cleared and relined more tree-root-affected pipes in Melbourne’s leafy eastern suburbs than we can count.

Coastal pockets like Williamstown and St Kilda bring their own stormwater drainage quirks, with ageing infrastructure and higher water table pressures during heavy rain events. Further out, newer estates in the north and west tend to have PVC systems that are generally more robust, but can still fail at joints or due to ground movement over time.

Wherever you are across greater Melbourne, chances are we’ve already seen,  and fixed, the exact problem sitting in front of you right now. That local experience means faster diagnoses, fewer return visits, and better long-term outcomes for the people who call us.

What good service should look like.

A drainage problem is often stressful because the cause is out of sight. Water might be draining slowly, a smell may be appearing after rain, or the same line may have blocked twice in a short period. In that situation, the right question is not simply who can get there first. It is whether the person attending will take the time to understand the cause, explain the options clearly and leave you with a sensible next step.

For a straightforward blockage, a proper solution may be as simple as clearing the line with the right equipment and testing that it is flowing freely again. When a problem keeps returning, a camera inspection can be a far more useful investment than repeated temporary clears. It can reveal roots, a cracked joint, displaced pipework or a section holding debris, so the conversation moves from guesswork to evidence. We encourage customers to ask questions, look at the footage and decide with a clear understanding of what is being recommended.

Good service also means clear communication before work expands. If further repairs are worth considering, we explain why, what the likely disruption involves and which alternatives may suit the property. That approach matters just as much for a homeowner as it does for a building manager planning maintenance across several sites. Our goal is to be the Melbourne drainage team people feel comfortable calling again, and comfortable recommending to a neighbour, tenant or colleague.
